SOUL POP SONGSTRESS
Take one part bohemian
and one part brass knuckles,
stir in some wanderlust,
simmer at 100° in Texas weather for 30 years.
Remove from heat and let chill.
Serve Bekah Kelso up with a folk-hop twist,
relax and enjoy.

welcome welcome, one and all.
i have so enjoyed the last few months, cultivating this thing with "The Fellas", my band here in SATX. what a joy it is to be playing with people who wear their love of the music on their sleeves, and all over their faces.
a lot of bands ramp up their tour schedules in the summer, but we're taking it the other direction. tho you'll still find us plenty of places around town this summer (see show schedule here), a lot of what we're doing is prepping for the next studio project.
after going 30 weeks strong in the Global Soulwriters Group where i've been challenged to write and turn in a song every week, we've got a fine collection of new, strange and wonderful tunes coming together. we're working on getting the first batch locked & loaded so that when we go in the studio and hit record, all we have to do is fly and let the tape roll.
also, in an effort to turn my music and creativity into a more sustainable, financially flourishing avenue of support for me and my family, i'm gearing up to launch my new Patreon page. Patreon is a cutting edge platform where you can become of patron of the artists that you love in a whole new way.
where Kickstarter raises one large sum of money for one specific project, Patreon is smaller and ongoing. basically, when you decide to become a patron of an artist (hopefully me!) you agree to give a tip in the amount of your choosing every time i release a new piece of content (like a new song!). for example: let's say you pledge a $2 tip per new song and I release 3 songs that month. that means you'll be safely and securely drafted $6 that month and you will get all 3 new songs for download. neato, right? you can also set a monthly cap so that if i release 46 songs that month, you won't go broke, hehe. i'm very excited to build and engage in deeper, more lasting relationships with the fans and supporters who truly connect with my music and believe in what i'm doing. one of my greatest lessons learned in the last 10 years as a working singer/songwriter is that when it comes to fans, the long game is truly about quality over quantity.
as always, thank you for coming by to read the latest, for being interested and positive and lovely. i look forward to talking soon!
